This role is responsible for the care and prevention of athletic injuries for the Houston Dynamo Academy Teams. The Academy Athletic Trainer will primarily attend all team training sessions and treatment sessions which will include assisting the U13 – U20 teams as needed. Assisting during away matches may also be required dependent on entire Academy coverage schedule. Generally, coverage for all 5 teams are as follows: a morning Athletic Trainer that covers the U17 and U20 teams, and an evening Athletic Trainer that covers the U13, U14, and U15 Teams, which may be spread across all Athletic Training Staff based on schedule needs.   Duties and Responsibilities
- Manages Houston Dynamo Academy player injury status.Â
- Oversees organization of medical supplies and communicates needs to the Director of Sports Medicine.Â
- Travels with the Academy Teams for away travel and matches based on the overall schedule and finds adequate event coverage if not traveling to an away match.Â
- Monitors daily cleaning list for the athletic training area and equipment.Â
- Maintains proper documentation for all treatments rendered.Â
- Promotes Houston Dynamo FC culture and core values to players and staff.Â
- Assists the other Academy Athletic Trainer in all aspects of care and prevention of injuries for all players with daily communication between the morning and evening training sessions.Â
- Works in conjunction and communication with the Academy Performance Staff daily.Â
- Organizes transportation of players to physician appointments.Â
- Other duties as assigned.Â
 Qualification Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the field of Athletic Training – required.
- Experience in caring for soccer teams – preferred.
- Master’s degree in relevant field – preferred.
- NATABOC certified and licensed in the State of Texas to practice Athletic Training – required.
- Able to maintain certifications with Texas Licensure, NATABOC, and BLS – required.
- Able to maintain personal liability insurance – required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- English and Spanish language fluency – strongly preferred.
- Ability to travel internationally – required.
- Able to work a schedule up to 6 days per week dependent on business needs – required.
- Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed – required. Â
