Girls YDP Academy Sports Therapist

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join LFC Foundation as a Girls YDP Academy – Physiotherapist/ Sports Therapist. The responsibility for this role is to provide physiotherapy/sports Rehabilitation service within the Girls YDP Academy for all players.

What will you be doing?

Provision of pitch side cover at tournaments, friendly, and league fixtures for the Girls Academy
Provision of pitch side cover at training sessions (evenings and weekends) for the Girls Academy
Diagnose and establish treatment/ rehabilitation plans for relevant players for the Girls Academy
Provision of treatment and rehabilitation services for injured players in the Girls Academy
Liaise with key stakeholders regarding player availability and progress
Take part in CPD and attend in-house CPD training
Maintain contemporaneous medical notes to an excellent standard on the WPS (Women’s Performance System)
Ensure high levels of professionalism and patient confidentiality.
Liaise with age group multi-disciplinary team staff to optimise player performance and overall health
Carry out and oversee all investigations as required
Attend consultations with specialists to ensure that appropriate treatment decisions are made, if requested
Maintain contemporaneous medical notes to an excellent standard on the WPS (Women’s Performance System)

Who are we looking for?

To be successful in this role, you will have recent and relevant professional experience in a sports performance environment. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, as well as being reliable, conscientious and have a flexible approach. You will understand the pressures and commitments required for players and the understanding of support strategies for players emotional needs.

You will be able to demonstrate the skill to create a positive working relationship with all key stakeholders and can work collaboratively in a team in a professional and pressurised environment. You will have the ability to create an ethos which promotes high aspirations and achievement for all.

Essential qualifications for the role
• Chartered HCPC registered Physiotherapist; or sports therapist.
• The FA Level 2 Emergency First Aid in Football (EFAiF)
• Member of the Health Professions Council
• Post-graduate experience of working in professional sport is desirable.
